Meet the Team
Donna Burgess
Welcome to the team. Our new Accounts/Payroll Controller. Having spent a number of years working for both large and medium sized organisations, Donna is the person who controls and co ordinates all financial issues at JU and is fully responsible for our temps payroll. Donna works only on Monday and Friday.
Rebecca Patenall
Rebecca joins the team at JU, following two years of maternity leave, as our Business Development/Client Liaison consultant. Having worked in the fast moving environment of media and advertising, Rebecca appreciates the complexities of a people driven business and the need to deliver at all levels. With a bright and outgoing personality and enthusiasm to meet the needs of her new role, Rebecca is taking time both in the office and out and about meeting clients, renewing relationships and forging new links with new Industries. She is keen to support our consultants deliver a first class, independent, honest and caring service. Welcome to the team.
Naomi Ryan
I thought after all this time a deserving update is required. Despite tough times in recruitment Naomi still pursues her dedication to excellence when delivering a diverse recruitment service to both our clients and to our candidates. From counselling to objective reviews of jobs and person specifications to delivering the right person for the so important roles placed with us, Naomi remains steadfast in her commitment to care and excellence.
Carol Johnson
Often described as too committed to people, by going further than any agency to secure the best possible outcomes for clients and her candidates, we will never change her... but applaud that she champions people with their careers and aspirations, is committed to fairness and non discrimination, questioning legalities, compliance, bureaucracy which often sadly stands in the way of people and organisations securing and retaining the best possible candidates for their roles and businesses. She's pretty good at recruitment too!
Sophia Basoo
The longest serving member of JU. Having worked in the office, progressing on to completely designing and maintaining our website and associated needs, Soph is committed to keeping our JU information as up to date as possible. Don't miss a single new vacancy by following JU on Twitter. Soph also needs a medal for being the focal point of all the web sales people who are constantly in pursuit of our business. Natasha Brewer
Now fully setttled in, Natasha is responsible for reception, all our administrative functions and for processing the temps' payroll. She is also studying for her AAT qualification. It is great to have her as part of our team.

Our work experience team
Throughout the year, Johnson Underwood supports between six to ten students by providing work experience. We are unable to name names because of data protection/children's legislation but we do offer a huge thank you for their support. We hope our students enjoy their stay (beats the local tattoo parlour!). They witness our life at JU as it is. Their computer skills are often impeccable although many fear speaking on the phone... but we get over this. Well done and thank you to all of you!

Thanks to our lovely candidates who understand that we will try to find roles for them, who appreciate our help with their CVs and understand the need for so much paperwork to complete. Thanks for keeping in touch by email, phone and in person.
And finally, thanks to Mariela, our cleaner who despite having huge holes in walls and water damage, awaiting repair as a result of an irresponsible landlord, works to keep our offices clean, tidy and welcoming! Our endeavours to pursue the repairs will continue...
